Finally after many years, unsuccessful attempts, and constant lack of funding, I have built my first set of skate decks. I opted to build a longboard this time out and got instant gratification. The combination of three custom crafted plies (hardwood top and bottom, core of soft and hard woods for flex) gave an end result that is both strong and flexible. The deck is 1/2" thick with a 3/8" camber ( that will be changed on future decks) Three were made at 50" long and two at 40" , the 50's definately ride better than the 40's but for prototypes they're perfect.
Now the only bummer is I have to find a way to sell them if I want my wife to allow me to keep making them.
I'd like to post some pics but would need some help from one of y'all to do so, can anyone help?
Ah I'll have to try it later. |
