you guys actually ate that shit?
I always wondered about that.
I'd try and come up with some of the most vile, fucked up shit I could think of, go to a bar, get shit-faced, and try and write it down, then turned it in the next morning before going into the darkroom to do some blow and try to wake up.
Around '90, Miles Orkin took over the writing duties until his departure, and then it was just lost in the dust.
I can't believe you guys actually took that column seriously enough to actually eat it.
I got a bridge for sale if any of you are interested. |

I did actually eat it, and actually I liked most of it as did most of my friends. In junior high everyone had to take that mandatroy Home Ecenomic shit where you had to pick a recipe and make it, then eat it. We always used skarfing material recipes.
maybe I just have a weird sence of taste, but I liked most of those recipes. |

damn.
and after all of these years, I didn't even know anyone ever really read that shit.
goes to show you, drunk writing works.
they don't teach you THAT in school. At least I don't think hey do. I wouldn't know. Hish School is as far as I got.
Maybe we can have a S&B party here in Albuquerque, have a day of skating ditches and a night of Shark Tacos, Shit on a Shingle, and martinis.
We can do it at Stuubs new house. |

you would be hard pressed to find a skater that was hardcore than Pierre.
Once he came up to me at a Thrasher Xmas bash and said, "gimme $5, I'll pay you back some day." Having known Pierre for more than 20 years, I knew he wouldn't ask if he didn't need it. 8 years later, he comes up to me, gives me this giant bear hug and lifts me offa the ground. Pierre is a very big guy, and I at 5'11" 250, ain't too small either. ANyway, he hands me a fiver, and says thanks.
He often skated up and down California going to skate contest in the '80s. He didn't have enough money, and he ate whatever was offered.
You mentioning him, brings back fond memories of him. He's not all there, as he took some severe blows to the head in a gang related altercation well before I ever met him in the early '80s. He was there by your side if you needed him, loyal bro. I'm sure he's been skating every day.
As for his role in Skarfing Material. That musta been well after my bowing out. I remember him eating lots of those little crabs, right off the rocks. That's all I remember though. |
