This ever happen to you?
You find a great grade to just ride a long stretch on a secondary road. No cars, or at least just an occasional one or two. You start off and you're flowing along, wind in your hair, unwinding from the pressures of the workday. Suddenly you hear that dreaded sound, a car, speeding from behind, booming rap music, and you all you can think is 'Am I gonna be street pizza?'
One solution, I suppose, is getting up at dawn on a weekend, but I'm not a morning person.
What to do? |

Barracade the street beforehand?
Wear one of those orange "retarded kid on a bike" flags atop a helmet?
One (or a couple) of those pins that some bikers wear that has the LED lights flashing?

Dawn patrol on Sunday mornings.
Or get some barricades and cones and block that sucker off.
Or convince the city council that you need to block off a 10-mile section of road for a block party. |

Have Jim follow you in the family truckster while weaving all over the road so that nobody can pass him.

lol, but then you get the cops, medics, firemen, and the news people there. Not to mention the crane that the would use to right the truck. Good idea in theory tho. |

I saw a video clip of Clif narrowly getting missed by a car, the driver looked more shook up than he did! |
