i just got a bds longboard. it's sort of a second....the graphics didn't come-out perfectly, but the board itself is sound. the only problem is that it is lacking the final coat of sealer. the wood is exposed.
does anyone have any suggestions as to what i could put on it to keep it from delaminating or warping? i don't plan on riding in the rain or crusing through puddles, but this will be a street cruiser so it's inevitably gonna get some sort of exposure to moisture.
i guess this question could be about any size deck, but since it's a longboard, i figured i'd post here first. thanks in advance guys!!!! |

I would think a spray Polyurethane coat or two would suffice. It's fairly cheap and can be found in local stores.

Yup, works like a charm. Did it on my BDS 38 and it turned out really well.

ok, so i got some minwax "spar urethane". it went on really easy, but i put it on a little to thick on a couple spots, so it dried kind of tacky. i got myself a 320 fine sanding sponge and just evened those spots out......the whole thing worked like a charm!!! thanks for the advice!!!
markm (mile high), my seismics arrived today and i'll be getting my wheels from bulldog tomorrow. so i'll be cruisin' the streets in style. i've wanted to try a longboard for awhile now, but this BDS longboard has just got me dyin of anticipation. i can't friggin wait.....like a kid on x-mas eve!!!!! |
