Nice. The different size trucks give you a better feel on that size/shape? I've done that with early 90's football set ups,but not this particular era...

I don't like the look of wheels sticking out past the deck so I've done it on a couple of boards, but honestly this set up only lasted half a session before I changed it. I couldn't get those Ace trucks tight enough for me even with hard bushings. They're made for people who can skate way looser than I can. I kept getting wheel bite even cranked down and everything felt squirrely. I don't know if it was the pivot cups or what, but I was all over the place. I definitely like a shorter axle in the back on my old set up, but I can lock in way better on the new deck the way it is now.

I also added re-issue rat nuts from a German seller on ebay. I can't skate for shit, but at least my boards are rad...

I rode a dark-green Vision Joe Johnson hieroglyphics deck somewhere around 1987. Loved that deck so much I always told myself I'd get a reissue if the ever came out....well they came out late this Summer and I found out early this month. Most colorways were sold out, no dark-green was reissued, so I got an orange one to match a set of orange 60mm 87a OJs I had. I also had a set of Indy 159s which are slightly bigger than the Tracker trucks I rode on the old setup. Add the 1/2-inch riser pads and a set of orange OJ rails and now I have a rider. Not my main for park or street, but for cruising like when my kids and I go for a cruise around their Grandma's neighborhood every Friday after I pick them up. Even doing some mad grinding at my favorite curb with it. So stoked. One thing about it is...man is it orange.
