Hello,

I'm in France, and a friend of mine gave me an old Jeff Phillips deck, as I was looking for an oldschool deck to use at the local pumptrack near my home.

I didn't have money for a new deck and this is why he gave me this one.
He and I didn't know this deck was a collectible. Today I did a bit of research and now I wonder if I should keep riding it or had better sale it to a happy collector and use the money for a better setup for my pumptrack usage (even though that one is really fun to ride).

Here's a picture of it :

Collectible, yes - but it would need to be in better shape. Considering its condition, you'd better enjoy it for what it is. Plus, skating it at the pumptrack won't add much damage to it...

Nice deck, though.

Thank you for your reply !

In a way it's a relief because I like this deck actually and I feel better knowing my friend didn't give me something that he might have regrets for.

Have a nice day,

Pierre

Looks like its set up for slalom.... put some Aces on it and some OJ dub cons and go shred something with it! When its about to give up, hang it.

I picked up skateboarding, at age 50, two years ago during the Covid lockdown because surfing was banned and we were only allowed to go out within 1km from home. So I started skateboarding on the nearby bike path, in a surfskate style and ended up doing long distance pumping (no pushing) that I found to be a good and fun workout. Hence the slalom/LDP setup I recycled for this deck.

Apart from that, I'm a begginer at skateboarding. I only know how to pump during long distances in regular and switch stances and how to foot break. But I neither can slide, drop, hollie, or anything else.

The pumptrack with its raised turns is a new step for me ! Not easy but I'm improving and it's fun !
