First post here. hope we can all chat skating etc
Small story first: While browsing around a flea market, i stumbled upon what looked to be a nice looking mid 80's deck. Flipped it around to find out it's a duane peters. It was missing its nose, tail guard, and 1 side rail. Still had its original kryptonics see through green wheels and black trucks. bought it for 2 bucks.
I decided to do some restoring and to surprise...this deck is tough as nails. no flex or preasure cracks( besides the chips you see on the nose).
Just paint crackles. Put some fresh grip, and put more modern but tasteful hardware. ( Grind king free floating axle trucks, kryptonics newer green wheels, pig rails, red bones, shortys nuts n bolts ).
as you can see i obviously put it to the test and it is fully functional and seriously feels like it has a ton of life left in it.
heh you can so tell i'm goofy footed.
So the big question... how much is this worth now?

Far from being Duane's most popular model. Kind of ugly colorway for that model which came out in 1985.
Wheels and trucks kind of devalue devalue it—should be Stage III Indys and OJs of that time period.
As is, on ebay you' get a duece. You might get more without the trucks, wheels and rails which normally would have been installed in a manner that they follow the shape of the deck.
I've owned a couple. Never paid more than a $200. Seen a few go $300 here. And a few go full on retarded but those get disregarded because there's always a story lurking in the background.
Nice score though. Any day you find a DP at a flea market and pay less than $200, let alone $2!!!!, is a great fucking day! |

dude thanks so much for the quick response. yeah not to big of the green black look. The red white combo is the one i'm hoping to track down. heh kinda figured i de-preciated the deck. tho it was pretty fun for my first restro mod deck. plus the feeling of doing a sloppy 80's status board slide on a real 80s deck feels pretty awesome.
thanks again for the info!! |

What were those trucks? Might be worth more if you put them back on. |
