Havent come across trucks marked like these...so anyone know whats the deal with em(year issued and if they are common or pro only trucks)?these versions have the black composite baseplate with the metal hangers measurin 8 inches across...these are on a clear plastic see through flexdex performance skateboard with 80s black kryptos..

Well, without pics it is difficult for us to id your trucks. Gullwing put HPG IV on the baseplates of their trucks for years and years because that is the company that produced the trucks and has nothing to do with the model of truck itself. They also used composite baseplates throughout the years on a few different truck models starting in the later 80's or so. Is anything else written on the baseplates?
Maybe you can have a friend with a smartphone or something take a pic for you and email it to you? Then post it to a pic hosting site like imgur and link it here. Or email it to me and I can link it here for you? PM me and I can hook you up with my email. Not trying to be presumptious as there are ways to get pics on here if you really want to know what trucks you have.
Or you can do a little bit of research on your own and figure it out? A super quick and dirty little google search yielded this tidbit of info:
"Many people think this was one of the best skateboard trucks of all time. They certainly must be up there! A lot of people think the H.P.G. IV was a model number, it wasn't.
Designed by the H.P.G. IV Corporation (an aerospace tooling company), California, in 1975 by skater Mike Williams, with company owners Bill Brawner and Walt Tiedge, the Gull Wings split axle truck was released in January 1976. This truck was unique as it allowed the skater not only to adjust the truck tension but also the radius, resulting in an amazingly configurable slalom truck."
My 9" Pro trucks with metal baseplates from the early 80's have HPG IV on them:

And if i can remember that far back...the whole premise of a younger me was that was a topic of people compmaining at that time, that gullwings didnt turn..like tracker sixtracks that bent with the plastic baseplates(in order to turn)...trucks and their ability to turn, was a heated on/off topic with certain "then" members that kept bringing that aspect up...
So yea..different time/different s &b crowd/different mentalities(all around)back then...
They could be exclusive flex deck only trucks..im not sure but havent seen street shadows with these markings/variations..
Oh well theyll stay with me... |
