Great lyrics matter. I have deep appreciation for great writers.
However, after watching one of those internet videos where they take a song from a big band and purposefully run the lyrics across the screen but with certain words changed has fucked up a number of songs for me— Pearl Jams Yellow Ledbetter will never, ever, be the same—I can now only hear the joke lyrics that ran across the screen over the video. There's a number of songs ruined by that. |
