For my second deck I was pretty excited as via Instagram I discovered that there was a guy manufacturing decks not far from my house. I reached out and he was down to experiment so I got a dozen veneers from him and screen-printed them before he pressed and cut them into the decks. They turned out really nice but because the graphic was already on the board, they had to be extra careful during the finishing process and ultimately decided that it was more trouble than it was worth so no more of that. I recently got hold of a press myself so I'll be pressing some of my own decks in the future. Might try this method again, might not. There's a lot that could go wrong.
Limited edition of 12. I have 2 left for sale on Squad19.com
Waiting to be finished after pressing and cutting.
3 were printed on a red veneer.
9 were printed on natural veneer. |
