my memory is shot these days, but i recall a skate contest on espn in the late 80's sometime.. i think Jeff Phillips won the vert, Hosoi won the highest air. I think cab won the street comp. and hosoi had a real tough time in the street competiton ending his run with a nose manual.
this is the best description i could think of, I would love to see this again. does anyone remember this and possible have this taped? I would love to pay a fair price for a dub sent to me.
thanx

Sounds like one of the contests that Vision ran and parts of it showed on ESPN years ago. You can find it on one the DVDs that Vision put out of all their old videos and contests. |

That was the vision contest. Reese Simpson won Am, follwed by Jeff Jones I think. That's the one where Billy Ruff is so queer it's unbelievable, and the stupid primo desiderio sea world thing or some shit. |

That was at Anaheim I think? the contest they used the footage from for that movie "The Skateboard Kid 2". Nothing like late 80's contest footage that's supposed to be happening in 1995 or whatever. Anyway, some of that contest footage is in Psycho Skate, and The Vision Street Wear Fashion vid no.3 that i have too.

That was the Anaheim finals 86. Phillips won vert (Hawk fell in his final run), Hosoi won the first-I-ever-heard-of highest air contest. I don't remember anything about the street stuff, though. I had this vid for years, then lost it....haven't found a copy since. I can't remember the name of the video, but it's NOT Vision Great Skate Escape....thats from 87....with one of the first spine ramps in it.
PS - I think this was one of the first skate vids to appear on ESPN - that's where my old copy came from.
