Deckaid is a pop up skateboard art show which benefits charities that support youths. The project features a variety of skateboard art collections, which vary from exhibition to exhibition. Following collections will be on display: mnc101 / bobshirt aka Tim - Go_Skate_Or_Go_Home aka Alan - vaskateboards aka Robert. It also features an ongoing photo portrait series of skateboarders and their classic boards.
Deckaid will host the next art show at The Fridge DC (516 8th Street SE, Rear Alley, Washington, DC 20003) on April 1, 2017 from 7pm - 10pm AND will include a special tribute to Pepe Martinez.
Pepe is a legend - one of the original DC skaters. He was the inspiration for all upcoming skaters in the early 90s and beyond. If you were ever fortunate enough to talk to him or know him, then you know he had a huge heart and loved everyone. His dream was to become a professional skateboarder. He became not only that, but was one of the most innovative and stylish skaters ever to grace Earth. His mark on skateboarding will never be forgotten.
Classic skateboards of Pepe's collection will be featured. You'll be able to purchase t-shirts featuring one of his boards as well as a one of a kind art rendering which reflects Pepe and his connection to our nation's capital - courtesy of Gulf Coast Art Works.
The Martinez family looks forward to seeing you there. All proceeds from the art show will go to Martha's Table a local DC charity.
