I operate and own a screen printing company, and I'm a noob when it comes to screen printing skate decks. I use regular plastisol inks for garments, and i know that plastisol is not recommended for decks. I want to know if i need to use either solvent/water based inks for printing. What is the type that most people often use?, are there thinners that i have to use?, and is regular photo polymere emulsion good.. or is there a type of emulsion that i need to be aware of?
Any help on this topic is helpful, and much appreciated!
Thank you

Hey Chris,
Go with water-based inks. Most people use Nazdar 2700. I use a combination of Nazdar and some Speedball acrylics. The Nazdar is glossy so it doesn't need to be clearcoated afterward. But it does dry quickly so I'd also get the retarder that goes with it. I've been happy with a lot of the Speedball stuff too. |
