Where do you guys get your catalogs printed?
How many pages and what size do you make? How important do you think they are to have?
I'm working on one, it's actually finished. It's 8 pages long including the front and back pages. Each page is 5.5l x 4.25w and they all go together on the front and back of a 11x8.5 peice of paper. The trouble is even with only a front and back print i'm paying $2 for a full color copy at Office Max.
You guys have any suggestions? |

go out and get a color laser printer. look for tektronix owned by xerox, they're all over ebay, but if you have a online classified ad thing like craigslist.org, it's best to find it locally, cause they're freaking heavy. used they're about $200 and worth every penny. because unless you're running mad volume, these you can just bust out a couple hundred as you need, make changes/add products when you need. |

That's a good idea. The printer I have now is shit. I can't even print out an original on it. Do you know what retailers might carry the printer your talking about?
I live in fucking Hawaii so if I bought it over Ebay the shipping would probably run more than the printer.
Thanks dude. |

they're fairly expensive new, so i recommend a used one-Xerox makes tektronix. just keep an eye on the consumable parts -fuser, imager, toner- these must all be good or nearly full/new- otherwise replacement parts will eat you alive. colored toner cartridge usually gives you 10,000 copies +. maybe see if anyone on the islands are selling refurbished cartidges as they may hava a lead on used printers too.
or another way to go is to talk to a small newspaper publisher. maybe you could create a cool newsprint catalog. theres a lot of ways to go with this. but your gonna want to find a small publisher. |
