I bought a used Comet 40" complete on Ebay because it was cheap, and I wanted to try some randalls. After giving it a workout, I thought I'd share my evaluation of the Randalls Compared to Seismics.
Both have great turnability, but randalls seem like other skate board trucks in that they have differing amounts of response in different phases of the turn - sometimes you really have to crank it.
Seismics are always responsive regardless of the degree of the turn - you ask and they give. A very even response. |

well said. the seismic springs are more linear, wheras the randals seem to "pack up" near the middle/end of their arc/turn.
for me, seismics combine the stability of a stable truck AND loose/turny truck in one, predictable, consistent package.
plus, quality-wise, it's hard to beat the seismics.

I'm torn at present. I like them both, but I get the feeling my Seismics are just a tad squirrly when I'm leaning out pretty far.
Maybe my imagination... or my adjustment?

GC,
What springs are you running? How many turns of the spring adjusters?

PS~ Good question. I'm using the red springs and may not have tightened the allens down much at all. I'll test the theory. What color/ weight springs you run?
