Hey all,
Just wanted to introduce myself, as I plan on being sround here for a while. The basics: Nick (everyone calls me Ross) 32, Oregon. I grew up skating SF 1991-1999 (that's what I consider my serious skating years, though I pushed around and goofed off with it a few years before & after that)
I currently have no decks, but I'm on the hunt for a few that I grew up with, and a few I never had the opprotunity of owning back then. I do still have all my skate videos though, around 50, with all the 90s classics, and some harder to find ones as well.
Favorite skaters (in no order) Drake Jones, Marc Johnson, Bobby Puleo, Steve Berra, Jason Lee, Carroll, Sal Barbier (I would pay big money for a pair is ES SLB's) Rune Glifberg, Steve Olson (Foundation Steve Olson, though Santa Cruz Steve Olson rips too) Danny Way, Cairo Foster, Jeremy Wray, Heath Kirchart, Tom Penny, some guy named Guy that used to skate Pier 7 in the late 90's, Jovante, Mike Rafter, Colin McKay, Salman (really nice guy too) Scott Johnston, Gershon Mosley
Though I haven't pushed in over 10 years, I still consider myself a skater. I feel it's in our blood. The way we look at places most people wouldn't see as anything out of the ordinary, but how we notice them as skate spots, or how I turn my head every time I hear that familiar sound of two sets of wheels roiling over the cracks in the sidewalk, it all makes me smile. Anyway, if anyone is still reading this, I'm happy to be here. |
