So say you have 2 screen that are the same size and your gettin ready to burn the images into them for a 2 color design. How do you align each image so it is burnt in the right place?
Thanks, I'm a newb.

Probably some kind of standard pin system
like in regular offset printing. |

Well, you have two actual things going on here. Lining up the images on the screen is only half the process, you still need to register them oncer you have them on the jig. Well here goes though.
First of all, make sure that your color seperations line up on the sheets you are using. when you have you color seps lying on top of eachother like they will look when u print, make sure the paper edges line up. If they dont then you want to tape the trasnparencies so they dont slide, and trim edges using a paper cutter or such tool. once both the central image and sheet edges line up, you place the first trasprency where u want it on the screen. Measure from the edge of the sheet to the edge of the screens on all sides, double checking (remember the golden rule, measure twice, cut once or some such crap.) make sure to measure all sides so that image is properly centered (it helps to measure in a few places on the long sides to make sure your image is not slanted at all) WRITE DOWN THE NUMBERS! these measurements are where you will place all your following transparencies.
This does not guarantee proper registration though, you still need to align the screen on the jig. Best way to do this for paper or t-shirts is to have a large flat peice of clear mylar taped on one side to your platen surface, print on that, then moved the item underneath until it lines up. then u can use registration pins, marks, tape, or whatever u use to show the spot to put the rest of your shirts or papers or cd's or whatever u are printing.
Skate decks are a little more difficult, and if u want to know about that, i will get back to you after I try my first multicolor run this saturday, lol.

For printing shirts.. your film positives should have some type of registration marks on both positives in the same place, even if you pen'd them in yourself.. measure that same distance from the screen frame top and sides.. as long as it's close on both frames, you'll be fine.. the main registration is done on the screen press.. use the outline (black) first to line things up.. you can use a pelon (wht square fabric)..an old t-shirt.. or use the film postive (taped on t-pallet). Get an emulsion that is "clear".. it's really tanish or some type of lighter hue (green/blue), but when layed down on the design you can see thru it easily.. that helps when aligning for the second color.. once it's all lined up, crack down the adjustments on the press..then print light to dark... and of course..have fun! I haven't done the boards yet either (soon).. but pretty much the same principle, although you'll need to align the board to the art/frame design, where on t-printing you align the frame/art to the shirt.
