Hello,
I was too young when most of these bands were coming out and afraid that I missed out on alot of stuff. my question is this. some of my favorite bands are the following. besides the buzzcocks most have a darker sound or less upbeat. If I love these bands, what bands would you recommend checking out?
thanx
joy division
buzzcocks
minor threat
black flag
misfits |

If you like Joy Division(and assuming you don't have the import box-set or various other imports)you will like Warsaw!(harder punkier pre-Joy Division, same members)They ruled. Also if you get the box-set, or various other live stuff, Joy Divisions live version of 'Disorder' fully rocks and recommend skating to it.
If you like Misfits, the Bodies are good and so is Balzac from Japan.

I would still like to add that nothing is as hard or as raw sounding as Black Flag's 'Nervous Breakdown'.

joy division- check out interpol, and a band from baltimore called two if by sea
buzzcocks- any mid era lookout! records band has the same pop sensabilities that you are looking for
minor threat-the spark, from baltimore
black flag-forward to death, from new jersey
theses aren't bands that are carbon copies, just bands that i get the feel of the bands you mentioned when i listen to them.
