I am in the process of building a deck screen. I was wondering what type of paint works best on decks.
Please tell me the Brand of paint you use, if it is oil based, water based... and where to get it from.
Thanks in advance!

Im usin speedball water based inks riht now. Its a good starter ink because its easy clean up and if you mess up you can just wipe the board off with a wet rag. Im stepping it up to nazdar 9700 soon, so with any luck it will work out. |

It depends on if you want to use waterbased or solvent based. Nazdar has both. Water is a lot easier to work with, but solvent based will look better.

I think Im gonna try the speedball acrylic water based like Nick. Its pretty cheap for an 8oz and if I mess up its not a big deal.
Nick, do you know what the silver looks like? If so, is it grey or is it metalic.]
Thanks for all your help guys. Ill show you my first deck when Im all set up.

Hey guys, I got speedball water based acrylic paint (red). I havnt tried it on a fresh blank but I took an old deck and sanded and then screened it on. Its not very glossy.
Do you think using a clear gloss spray would shine it up and protect it but not damage the quality of the deck? |

none of the speedball waterbased inks are glossy. You'll have to slap a layer of laquer over them.
