Bummed to hear this. He has been around for a while so you can see one reason why he's been with many companies |

This just means his reissues will go up in value if Mike pulls the plug on production. This is a bonus for the collectors but a bummer for the nostalgic skaters out there (myself included) who want to relive our youth if vicariously through our childhood heroes.
George must be so hard to deal with. |

Here are a few sneak peaks, from this powell-peralta fan website, of vallely stuff...Im sure you guys will be thrilled
Not sure if i found out about this site through snb or the skate one forum, some neat pics on it though. I like the GB photo of the powell peralta car.

His Elephant deal will probably be a Powell subsidiary, outside of the Powell-Peralta umbrella. |

The Powell site says he's asked that they not say what he's planning on doing in the future.
Personally I don't really get it. He hasn't really been skating much in a year since he broke his arm so badly. Lots of posts on his website about his band though. Why not ride for Powell and make some money? I doubt he'll make any money with his own label again unless somebody else is managing the day to day stuff for him.
Ideally this is going to be a kiddy label for him under Skateone. He's good with kids and would hopefully give him a sense of identity as an individual rather than as a member of a team.

Hopefully they don't fold Positv into this label cuz it'll make it seem weaker to me. .... that's of course assuming it's a SOC subsidiary. |

Weird that the skateboards in those pics have Independent trucks on 'em. Didn't Mike start skating for some up-start truck company...Tork Trux- had a pro model, I just saw it in the new Thrasher (Jan 2012- KOTR one).
I just googled the website and their site didn't work, but FB did.
Anyway, good luck to Mike on his upcoming ventures.
(I like him. I don't understand some stuff he does, but he lives life the way he sees fit, so be it.) |
