I thought this is interesting when I saw these on the Santa Cruz site. Good to see our very own SkaterX getting the opportunity to do art for Santa Cruz. Congrats.

| This one was so fucked. Ill have to find the thread when I'm not on my phone but I remember when this went down. We had already sent ours the factory when X posted his and I just about shit my panties. Uncanny. I hit him up cause it really blew my mind. I posted up all the ref pics I compiled before doing the graphic, the circus master, the invisible man...... I was so bummed, had I seen his before I totally would have done something else. I liked his better. |

I really thought it was SkateX that did it.
I actually am not trying to start shit, I've seen a few versions over the years like what Scott did. I think it's just zeitgeist. I think there's only so many ways you can draw something and people come up with commonality.
You have to add things; bowler hat, monocle and mustache to fill out the idea he's the invisible man. It would just be logical.
Maybe someone needs to add a cigarette to a version? The smoke could wrap around the head revealing the outline of a person.
It's an idea.
So out of fair play is SkaterX going to get at least a shirt with the image? Maybe SkaterX could send Goon one of his. Then Goon could wear his at NHS and it would be an inside joke.
That would be funny. |
