Understand that what you are looking at is a 20"x14" reduced. It's a lot of subtle lines, less black then I normally do and mostly based on color work.
The color separations are acetate done with india ink. Any top color that shows a hole that allows the lower color to come through was actually scraped off that layer.
In short a total pain in the ass and some 80 hours of just pure insanity drawing this. These are not the final colors but was a test print run.
And the whole tangent was to draw half broke skull with a bird and it got way out of hand.
Essentially it was like drawing in reverse. The advantage is I can add or change colors by scraping off subsequent top layers.
Oh joy.
But the upside is I have some bugs in the drawing and a few hidden that you have to see in real life.
A .jpg dosen't do this justice but lets try.
The Putrid Orange version which is in a numbered edition of 50.
The very limited edition Rip City test print.

Thank you for the accolades.
I pulled all the separations into photoshop to do color mock ups and there is a blue version....however I think I alienate people with odd colors. Blue skull suggests ice. I like it, even the purple version but didn't think anyone else would like it.
Maybe after these 2 other orange tone versions sell I can do another color. |
