HOLY FUCK!

Nebula's "Atomic Ritual" is perhaps the best album of the past 3 years. Seriously, if you like heavy-70's style psychedelia mixed with Stooges style punk rock taken to outer-space extremes, you'll go banannas over this magnificent slab. Call it "Stoner-Rock" or whatever, but this shit is heavy as a lead casket & buried twice as deep. I'm absolutely in LOVE with this release. There's tons of texture & atmosphere to go along with the outright rocking.

GO GET IT!!! Nobody makes this kind of record, front to back, anymore.

Hey, You ever listen to any Alabama Thunderpussy? They're another one that can bring the house down. My buddy John is singing for them now. they're pretty kickass too.

Oh, so HE'S the new Johnny singing for the band. Yep, ATP rips it up. Bryan and Erik are both super-cool guys to boot. Another Richmond (via-South Carolina) based band worth checking out, is Throttlerod. Kicking names & taking ass!

So I did get the new Nebula. I've always wanted to get some older Nebula but the money wasn't always there for the entire record store. I've liked Fu Manchu for sometimes and the new Nebula doesn't rock as hard as some of the older Fu slabs. Fu mellowed-out lately too. Was older Nebula harder in the day? Not that it's bad, I just had expectations it would rock a little harder.

Yeah, some of the older Nebula stuff is heavier. But, that's the main reason Eddie & Rueben left Fu in the first place. They wanted to be able to experiment with songs. Explore other venues besides the standard Fu-fuzz. Live, Nebula still slays! Heavy as shit.

Matter of fact Zodiac, if you wanna send a cd-r recording of the hardest Nebula I'll trade you since I really can't take it back to the record store unless it's damaged.

Pick up "To The Center". It came out on Sub Pop a few years back. Sorry, I don't have the facilities to burn off cdr's.
