My friend fled Iran after his father was killed in a conflict. He came to the states to study and is now a Radiologist here in G.B.
His mom and sisters stayed in Iran. They are here visiting, and have invited us over tonite for a meal consisting of family dishes, and Iranian specialties.
Should be cool. I will have to be a bit adventurous |

Be sure to let us know how it turned out, and take some photos, please. I have a very good friend whose family also fled Iran when the Shaw was booted. One of the coolest dudes I know. |

I used to live on the 'Shaw. I've seen a few peeps get booted on Sunday night. Whittier Blvd. was better. |

Oh.
You meant the Shah....
(And yes, I actually did live on Crenshaw, between 54th and Slauson. I got some odd looks in that neighborhood ) |

I haven't been down there in years.
When I moved there ('92, right out of the army), one of my first welcoming experiences was a body with a chalk outline around it in the AM/PM parking lot at around 11pm. I was just going for a stroll to grab a soda, and then....... "Welcome to the 'Shaw!"
