Anyone got any good recipes out there? I'm getting tired of my oil/mustard/garlic/lemon concoction I normally make. Thing Thousand Island/Caesar Style. If I can make it at home that saves more money for beers and bearings. |

Add some balsamic vinegar to your concoction and experiment with different types of mustard perhaps. Different types of vinegar work as well. |

I like to us about 2 teaspoons of plain yogurt in my salad sauces!
normaly I make something like either white wine vinegar or balsamic vinegar, olive oil, mustard, salt and pepper, yogurt some herbs from the garden or dry herbs, mix it up with adding either of these (hot pepper flakes, beef broth seasoning, soy sauce, hot sauce, croutons, left over bacon, or at a little of a bottle salad sauce to yours. lots of different options and creations
Also try adding to your salad either of these: corn, kidney beans (or any other beans you like), beets, carrots, grilled zucchini, grilled fish, grilled meat, pretty much whatever you can think of you can add
Have fun exploring
edit: @ coco, love grain mustard in the salad! |

I know this says BBQ Sauce, but we put it on everything, including salad
Caribbean BBQ Sauce:
2 (I use 3) scotch bonnet chilies (or whatever you can handle), fresh!!!
1 cup orange juice
1 cup honey
1/3 cup soy - for veggies and meat (or Worcestershire sauce - meat!!!)
1 TBS ginger
1/2 tsp allspice
2 cloves garlic
1 tsp dried thyme (1 TBS fresh) |

Me too. I've been buying this stuff from the local Ukrainian grocery store and it is amazing. I just wish I could decipher the cyrillic alphabet and get a brand name or I'd pass it on.
Also, the ubiquitous Maille Dijon comes in a bazillion flavours in France. Up here I can find maybe 3 if I'm lucky. Truffle Dijon sounds pretty awesome me thinks.
I'm a mustard junky. |

Thanks for the tips. I forgot to mention I normally use some balsamic or cider vinegar in mine, other variations are always welcome.
I've a load of salad leaves and tomatoes in the garden, need to use them up so I'll try a few different things. Cheers. |
