I can't remember the year but it involved hollowing out a potato, stuffing it with a cheese wrapped hot dog and beer. Does anyone rememeber this, or have the recipe? I know it was from the mid to late 80's. Any help would be appreciated.

I may be fuzzy on the particulars. It sounded good to me when I was a teenager, and it always kinda stuck in the back of my mind but I never tried it. I would still love to try it, even though it is most likely terrible.

my only advice is...
It sounds like you already know what is in it, and although it sounds pretty gross, you seem to be willing to try it. So, make a cheese dog, hollow out a potato, fill it with beer, then stuff the hot dog in, then proceed to skarf it down. Then, for a real nostalgic feel, leave a mess in the kitchen so your mom yells at you when she gets home.

see thats the problem, those are a few of the ingredients that I can remember, and I'm not sure exactly how it all went together. I just remember that it sounded good at the time. Unfortunately about 10 years ago I got rid of all my Thrasher back Issues, since i didn't think I would ever get back into skating. I'm such a dumbass (for getting rid of the Thrashers and for quiting skating).

A guess on the year? Maybe worked out from what age you think you were. I've got a full set of '81-'85 Thrashers and the recipe sounds wild enough to dig through a year or two if you think it was during the earlier half of the '80s.

Thrasher has the first few years on their site if you feel like digging, too
