dude it shouldn't have the heating element exposed like that...

I recently got a blackflash from www.silkscreeningsupplies.com .I just got the head unit and made my own stand but it cost me about the same as that one. It will work but there's better out there. Infrared heating elements are the way to go, even heat and if you get a220v one it will save electricity. I have already noted a reduction on my bills. and the shop stays coola too! |

Yes --you will be much happier with a infrared unit. I don't think the on/off switch would be a problem just don't leave it plugged in all the time. And the infrared truly will make your prints nicer. If using for a final cure get a laser thermometer deal they're pretty cheap. You want your shirt and ink to get up to 310 to 330 degrees to completely cure dependant on inks you use. |

I have a Laser Heat temp gun already. My prints range In size from 6x8" to 10x12" you think I can leave the Flash over all my designs at the same height? The Flash would probably run every other day for about 2 - 6 hours at a time. Would that be ok? Thanks! |

okay dude what we used to do back in the day before conveyors....
you got your flash next to your main print station
and you pivot it into place to flash the shirt you are working on...
when you pivot it into the other direction it is above a small table that you will use to cure a different shirt...
works best with 2 people
so you don't leave the shirt to scorch while working on the one you re printing but you can easily be curing onw while printing another with the same flash...
test test test
get tht internal ink temp to 320 atleast which means surface will be closer to 350-375....
try to leave it there for atleast 1min to 1:30
this will ensure a good cure....
vastex built a new falsh attachment for this very technique
but all you need is a good solid table that can resis the heat...
I always built my own out of wood, since most tables are plastic now a days and will melt...
and if you have a 16x16 heating element 12x12 designs will cure easily
it jsut depends on how high the flash is over the shirt
I usually keep mine within 1/2 an inch to speed things up...
also this is knid if sketch
but after doing this cure if you have a heat press laying around you could try using it to seal the print even more....
jsut use a piece of wax paper to not pull up the ink |
