Has anyone skated on the freshpark ramps? I was thinking of buying one of the 1/4 pipes (3.5ft x 4ft) because of the portability and storage of it and was wondering if it will hold up. For about $400 I wanted to make sure it was worth it.
Thanks,
Jon |

It would be better to build your own for that price. Go to www.rampplans.org. |

That's been my dilemma. Build my own or buy one that I can store easily during the winter. Also I need to deploy the ramp everytime myself or my kids ride it because I can't keep it in the neighborhood. So portability is a major factor.

build your own, just make the top sheet have a joint and an overlap with a few screw so u can split it into 2 pieces |

a kid around the corner has one that looks like a olschool launch..the thing is kinda heavy(there aren't smooth streets around here,so it make s it hard to push into position),but has small caster like wheels on the side of the ramp to move it..some small assembly and voila..
it feels weird at first because of the metal-like material, but i guess you get used to it after a while..wish he had another one alongside it to make it a small quarter-pipe.. |

If $$$ isn't so much of an issue, the FP ramps are the most hassle free way to go. When you factor in the time and cost of materials, they're not a bad way to go. Depends what your day is worth to you.
I got the launch ramps to make a mini spine, easy to lug to a local parking lot that's lit at night.
Don't know if the deal is still up, but Amazon.com is offering free shipping, which saves about $70 per ramp... |

We have had a freshpark ramp for a couple of years and they are built good. Holds up very well and portable.
