Now that I'm starting to get some old school decks that are still in the shrinkwrap I'm having a hard time figuring out how I'm going to hang these boards.
Normally I'd use clear fishing line through the truck holes and hang it like that... but I'd like to avoid that if I can and maintain the "mint" condition of the plastic wrap. (Oh I bet that bozo who wrote is saying how collecting sucks will hate that).
I thought of using plate stands. You know how old ladies have collectors plates on their wall and have those platforms that they hang them on. Anybody ever tried that?
You guys don't just collect boards and then stack them up in the closet and check off one more on your 'wanted list' do you?

i'd just go for the fishing line way. anyone who wanted to get a board that was still in wrap and bitched about two tiny holes in it wouldnt be worth your time- they would never be happy w/ a board. the boards would absolutely still be mint. dont sweat the small stuff. when you start to collect older boards that are NOS they inevitably have small scuffs, scrapes, stress cracks, and delams, even. it just the way it goes. |

Theres a website that sells zippered bags to store them in, I'll look and post it later. I've been using snowboard bags (the clear type w/zipper that new boards come in) and just tacking the corners to the wall. |

I don't understand why people like to keep the shrink wrap on the boards. 1) it doesn't provide any protection against moister and relatively no protection against scrapes, 2) It doesnt add any value to the board. A mint board is a mint board, and 3) Who wants to look at a bunch of shiney ugly shrinkwrap all over their wall?
Nope, first thing I do is rip that crap off. |

Yes take the wrap off. I don't think anyone cares about it. I use those plate hook's. They're perfect. Wrap'em in masking tape though cause they are brittle. Usually snap when you try to bend'em flat. Plus the tape helps them to stick to the hook for minor adjustments. And for horizontal graphics the springs work well. Oh and remember our motto "I only buy mint!" Thanks Deathbox aka Mr. Hardcore. |
