From a surf/skate combo standpoint, you could go south from SF and hit Pacifica park and surf, then SC. I'd say both are class parks, not crazy crowded and close to waves. The coping and transitions at SC are awesome.
You can also hit Mavericks on the way from Pacifica to SC |

Thanks for the tips all, heres how it played out:
I went by the Sacto park, closed for landscaping!
San Jose was fun....I love that pipe.
Santa Cruz was OK. I do not have the pool skills to deal with that one Gnarly!
Down south it turned to rain and unfortunatly the surf sucked, all blown out and I couldn't skate. I got wet but it was lame.
I went out to Palm Springs and really liked that one, lights, no hassles, no fees, all good. Joshua tree is super cool, great bouldering, that place would be awesome climbing.
On the way home , Sacto was open so I hit that blue tile pool, what a great park.
Battle ground in Washington, highly recommended and then home.
Looks like a few nice days before I go back to work so maybe a couple of outdoor sessions in the sun until the BC rain shuts it down.
Later. |
