Yeah, it's alright. We just went through a bag of it (the regular stuff) and I drank it every morning. I don't jump at the price, at $8 a bag, I could get the hippy-earth-friendly stuff.
Long story longer, I liked it and thought it was pretty good. The wife and I drink it black, no sugar or anything fancy. (I just asked the wife and she said it was really-really good). I wouldn't rant and rave how good it is, though.
I'll stick with Eight O Clock- Red bag, plain. $5 a bag and always a good cup. |

Thinking of it... Yeah, I would say that may be right. It's not super sweet or anything. Aww just try it. You'll probably like it. |

I too am curious about this. I don't know if it's the commercials that are making everyone rave about it or it really is that good.
I'm not sure how I feel about this pre-sweetening though. |

New England is Dunkin Donuts Central. We have a few here in the south, but Krispy Kreme is the big thing here, so DD doesn't have the following it does like in the Northeast.
I can drink black coffee at home anytime, so if I hit up DD, I get the flavored caramel shit, so I don't know about sweetness.
I think the push in advertising for DD is because they know times are hard, and a lot of financial advisers are saying it's not the time to slow down on advertising, it's the time TO advertise, so people know you're there. But I wonder: why is DD pushing their coffee in the commercials? We got Starbucks, Seattles best, and every other mom and pop corner coffee shop, why not their donuts? I like em better than Krispy Kreme in my opinion. They're probably just trying to change their image a little, because truthfully, the coffee isn't any better than Starbucks, etc. Or much cheaper, for that matter. |

Proctor and Gamble is behind (branding the grocery store) the coffee, if I remember correctly. They have plenty of backing- as P&G intends to be #1 at everything they do (or so I learned in some class eons ago). My guess is that P&G wants a "premium" brand of coffee, but thier flag-ship (Folgers) has a reputation of a "regular" coffee. Folgers came out with several fancy coffees, but seemed to fail to compete against Starbucks.
DD is probably trying to brand thier coffee, because the trend is to lay off the Doghnuts (the low carb stuff- I think Krispy Kreme took it in the shorts through this trend). - but they want people to still stop in.
Long(er) story longer- P&G is behind Foldgers (shit), but DD dosn't taste like Folgers. |
