So I finally got to grab a batch of Tiki's pickled okra he has talked about before. All I can say is "wow!". I figured I would "try" a few out when I got the jar.......well, half a jar later, I was still munching away in a feeding frenzy. I literally ate all but about 3-5 before I finally put the top back on and said "save some for later". They are just soooo good!

Sooooo if you can get Tiki to send you some, DO IT! If not, I am hoping he will post up his recipe and "how to" for proper okra pickling! I will have to try this out next year with some of mine.

Thanks, Tiki!

Are you coming down for holidays?

If so, swing by and I might have a couple more jars for you.

On a sad note: Wolf Bay Lodge burned down last week.

Slob..

I am still a Cali boy.. so I am not an expert here. A little help southern folks? Anyway the first time I had it was in gumbo. nuff said there...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Okra

Looks like I live in one of the best okra growing places around.

My question to you would be how do you like your pickles?

Semi Soft, Crunch, Extra Crunch?

Just my thinking, I screwed up and left them in the water bath maybe 5 minutes to long. So they are semi... I think it will be best to wait for next summer, (I have been working on this patch of soil) those are going to be my best! Ever! And I will ship you a whole bunch of crisp okra. But if semi rocks, I am am working on a package ( a stink bomb some music stuff ) for ya, and I could include a jar.

Hey Chris..

I forgot to add to the post above.

Thanks for the kudos. Me being a Cali Boy, that means a lot to me.

We missed your Mom and Dad the other day.

Next time you talk to them, wish your Dad a happy birthday from me and the family.
