Screw sector9... we don't shop at walmart here fellas..

I reccommend the Evo from Landyachts also, but if you want a more traditional looking longboard that's still stiff as hell, check out some of the new Earthwings.

@slob - the gators are nice, but I'd go with bigzigs in green or pink powerballs for a cruiser. The gators are MASSIVELY grippy though
I'm getting some small reds for my hairpin killer setup.

Yeah, Bear trucks are pretty rad too, because you can flip the hanger to adjust the geometry to your liking.

The Gators smoke the Zigs. Better grip, less deformation, no chunking out of the lip, no catching the edge when in a slide, smaller footprint, lighter weight, excellent bearing seat... and they held up to K-Rimes pushing them to 78 mph down a Colorado mountain. Sold!

I have 10 sets of Zigs and am very fond of themthey were amazing when they came out. But they're all in a pile now as my Gators have, for the most part, taken over both my slalom and downhill quiver (I still have one set of 75mm on one set-up).

I sell both, by the way.

What's wrong with S9?

Their platinum series is pretty decent. The Bomb Hills is a great deck.

I agree.

This bothers me very much every time there is shit talk on S9. They've done leaps and bounds for the longboarding scene. Sector Nine probably puts more skaters in the longboarding scene than any other company like it or not. A lot of people who are now competing can attest to saying that their first board was a Sector Nine.

Sector Nine has stepped up their game VERY much, I remember their completes coming with shitty Gullwing M1 Trucks, now they have a line of Chargers out on most of their completes which I've heard are outstanding trucks. Sector Nine does put out quality products, just because they are affordable to the mass public does not make them some sort of monopoly corporate assholes.

That's my 2 cents.

I believe the issue is their backhanded marketingallegedly telling the shops that if they carry the competition (Gravity etc) , they don't get the 9-ball.

as Purchasing Manager for a VERY successful skateshop that's been around 15 years, I can tell you that there was a problem with our sector 9 rep not wanting us to carry any Landyachts... or Rayne... Or Earthwing... Or even Leif Longboards....

I'm not gonna come right out and say it, but let's just say product would be pulled and accounts would be revoked if we chose to carry a wider variety of product.
