I am sure they are great, and well made bearings, and they do ride very well. But I still stand by my original opinion, they don't make you faster in gravity sports. Wind resistance regardless of tuck is much more powerful. Slalom and other disciplines certainly can benefit from these bearings. Maybe some super technical downhill.
Interesting thread.
longbord, play this mental exercise with me:
Pick a hil that you ride often. Bomb it with your normal set up, "whatever" bearings, leathers etc. During that run you have you BEST technical performance at all times, tuck, line, everything is PERFECT.
Now, change the bearings to a set of clean, high quality ceramic bearings and Bomb the hill again. This run is technically identical to the first. there is no difference in wind, your form or your line. Identical, everything is PERFECT AND THE SAME except for the bearings.
Which version of you has the best time? |

| I have heard people call him flakey however thought my dealings with him over the last 18 months have always be lacking in communication, the product has been on my doorstep pretty fast so although I didn't get a lot of hand holding messages telling me where my wheels and or bearings are they've been put to use within a week of payment. I have heard though not experienced anything to the contrary. I've also spent most of the last 15 years living outside the continental USA so waiting isn't something that bothers me that much |

| Not flakey at all, as was said earlier, there were some serious medical/family issues. |

Spraying your bearings with WD-40 is the worst thing you can do to a bearing.
But WD-40 smells quite well for a lubricant, that's all. |

Just one thing about the durability of PT ceramics in a Freestyle skateboard setup: I run them on the inside (to the hanger) and they work very well for me.
All other bearings; haven't tried Ron's; fail after some time, resulting in not spinning freely anymore. So I believe that the steel balls deform to some extend, as the ceramics use 'just' different balls.
Heavy side loads while doing railstands and landing in a railstand do this stuff to your bearings.
And I even roll................. |

Yes, some want their bearings to smell all pretty. |

Macsdaddy,
You are right. I love skating, and will continue to love it regardless of how good my set up is, and regardless of if my bearings will give me an edge. Thanks for reminding me of that.
I'm going out for a night skate!! WOOT! |

Hey Yoyo, why does a freestyler need ceramics in his setup?
Just curious. |
