After much irritation, I have declared a war against Indy and Ace baseplates, Buttonhead Kingpins, and JB Weld....
Armed with a Drill, a Tap, and a Set Screw, I have achieved Victory!
I opted for a larger Set screw than was truly neccesary, but it also allows me to use the same wrench as my Kingpins. Now I can invert Kingpins, or run standard Grade 8 Hex bolts with impunity, MUAHAHAHAHAH...

Really cool solution, Matthew.
And that's coming from a mechanical engineer. |

Very cool, thank you, and since you've got the Engineering chops, how soon can we build our own underground foundry at the Brick Factory, and start pouring the Ace Basplates for Old School bolt hole placement?

probably best to patent(?) the idea...never know if a manufacturer lurking here will "borrow" your idea...
nice looking though |

nice looking though
I'm not too worried about that, casting/milling a Square hole would be the cheapest way to make a hex head stay put, but they figured out that it's even cheaper/easier to make a round hole and stick a knurled button head in... |
