at first, i was gnna build a conveyer dryer, but i cldnt find a material to use for the belt, well, i came up with this awesome idea of making the actual heat box slide back and forth. here are some pics, its prolly hard to understand without seeing it in action, but its realy simple. i cured about 72 shirts in about and hour and a half. im realy proud of it, but i plan on doing a lot of things to it, for one, making it out of metal. but i hvnt had any problems so far.

her is a overal pic of it

her is a pic of the box slid to the back.. (just to show how it slides)

and in the front....

here is the underside.. 8 infrared heat lamps, these are pics right after it was put together but now the whole inside has reflective foil to direct all the heat on the shirts.

as for heat, i have a little intake fan to cool off all the wires and switch.

well, thanks for checkin out my heat unit, i know some people thnk you cant cure with bulbs, but all i have to say is with a little knowlege, effort and time, you can do anything. I have successfuly done 4 orders (2 of which were 144 shirts )

For the belt, look into a serpentine belt off a car and a few pulleys running off a piece of tubing. (it will have slop due to no bearing or You can get a basic motor and run a belt system. You can get real ghetto and make a crank setup and actually use a belt from your pants.

i like the diy aspect of it all but a dryer made out of wood just seems like a really bad idea. hopefully it all works for you though play safe.

That's awesome! Those garage innovations are rad. You've got a knack for making the stuff you need. True DIY. Good work Cody!

Cody, here is a idea..

Look for the track on a old POS toolbox drawer or dresser and use that as a sliding mechanism. Would smooth the slide bigtime.

keep up the work....

You can also use skatebearings (with or without wheels) on angle iron or another material and use studs to hold the bearings/wheel in alignment and roll/slide across the surface... Does that make sense?

you can buy the heat panels used in dryers and flash dryers seperately. That might make it speedier (and more dangerous...)
