Some of you Van cats may remember this shop—CalStreets.
What $5k and a little foresite could have brought. Ugh! |

this one especially got me. I love the bottom row of those stacks of phillips, yellow staab chemist [never saw yellow], blender faces decks. Skateboarding was so much cooler back then. |

Was that place owned by a millionaire? Christ. The shops I went to maybe had 30 decks.
Those pics are just incredible. God I'm a geek.
I need to change my pants and have a smoke.
later. |

| Though the level of stock in that particular shop is/was quite large even by present day standards, it was not uncommon to walk into skate shops with all of that very same inventory. Every board a different shape, skateshop employees knew what they were talking about and it was good. |

Yiiiiikes just look at all that stuff. Surrey Skateboards used to carry a comparable amount of stock. It's nice to be reminded what skate shops were like in the 80s. Shopping for a new deck was more fun with all those different shapes, sizes and concaves.
A lot better than "would you like a 7.5" or 7.75" popsicle?" |
