This re-tooled Salman Agah reissue from Real has been the best deck I have ever skated. Honestly. 8.6 inches at its widest with a nice slight shape to it, and an awesome classic simple graphic. The deck also came with a coupon for a free slice of pizza at Salman's pizza joint Pizzanista, which is rad.

I drove down to Long Beach for the Agenda tradeshow and ran into Salman on the escalator. I told him how much I love the deck and that I brought the coupon with me so I could check out his pizza joint. He told me they opened a new location just down the street and that Mike V was giving a little talk that night there about the origins and impact of the Barnyard deck.

We went to go see Mike speak (he was awesome), and I brought my board to see if Salman would sign it. He was so nice, signed it by the rail and talked with me for a few minutes about the reissue and the background on the original deck. He said the original was 9 inches wide, which was 1/4 inch smaller than anything at the time it was released. The summer before, on a Europe trip, he had been skating a lot of the Danny Way H-Street model with the rip off of the Volkswagen logo on the nose. So the shape was based off of that, but slimmed down. Pretty rad.

But now I have to retire this deck! Oh well, it saw some good use. Plus, I've got an extra one to skate.

My hunt for Fultracks paid off!
Set this up, re-issue DTS Red Dog, Tracker Gnarly Fultracks with magnesium baseplates and Copers, re-issue Kryptonics C65, Rockets bearings.

The Tracker coffee table book inspired the hunt....

The whole thing rides like 1978.

It almost pains me to read that you are going to skate this beauty.

Ugh...Does a skateboarder talk like that?
