I never made any mag's, but I did make the spread in my yearbook . This is the Kokomo High School yearbook circa 1989 I think. I'm ollieing the channel between two ramps though you can't see it very well. Also in the pic is Jason May from Airborne then Alva then Vison and Gullwing 50-50. Matt Munson with the indy, "Blackdog" Beanie Rostron watching me ollie the gap and Devin Ayers with the wall ride who with his brother Damon owned DK's skateshop and park. Damon wrote the article for the yearbook.

Poweredge Magazine, Skull Skates ad, sometime in 1988. Riding a Swank Tub Tech.

PD had a deal with makers-of-zines back then, that if you did Skull ads in your zine, you got flow.
I did a zine 'Freezine' out of Toronto back then, and got a lot of Skull flow as a result.
I was surprised when PD ran this photo of me in Poweredge.
The photo was shot by my brother Perry Gladstone, who had recently started repping Skulll out of his shop and skatepark, Toronto Skateworks.
Within a few months of this, Perry and I started Fishlips Skateboards, and our relationship with PD was soured.
It took me over 20 years to get back on PD's good side!
Stoked to have a copy of this again, my Poweredges are long-gone!!

Concrete Powder Magazine, 1999.
Wrote this little shreditorial while on a skate trip stopover in Vancouver.
They ran it with a self-portrait shot with a Pentax MX on a tripod, set on the old mechanical self-timer! You can see the shadow of the tripod in the shot.
I would set the timer, roll in, carve around, and hope the shutter released while I was in frame. Solo trip, no other way to get a photo at an empty park!
The cops in Durango Colorado were surprised to find me sleeping in my van next to the skatepark in the middle of February....
