My email made it into that KOTR issue. |

I'm betting it's some sort of company under skateone/powell sort of like Andy Mac's Positive.
The graphics look very VCJ to me to not be... |

If you look at his Vallely Skateboards decks, most of the art was heavily inspired by VCJs style. Didn't quite make the cut.
Saw the Phillips rip. He'll probably talk about what an inspiration he was to him hence the tribute. Maybe he'll do a Groholski one too.
I dunno. Too many labels out there as it is. Kids mainly ride shop decks these days anyways.
Yeah... also noticed he's riding Indy's but is sponsored by Torch or whatever it's called.
Wonder if he can own the name "Elephant Brand". That was a skate wrench company back in the day. |

This guy wrote a blog post about going out skating with Mike, and posted some pics.
You can see that the board's shape is heavily influenced by Jeff's Sims shape (and thus the prior G&S and Zorlac Double-Cut shapes).

Mike actually wrote a blog post a while back about how much he liked Jeff -- a personal encounter kind of thing. I think a lot of people had those kinds of encounters with Jeff.
Anyway, I don't think this is the first time that graphic has been "tributed". And Mike's a ripper -- I give him a pass. |

Danforth made a similar comment that he will not be welcomed in Texas...
