Especially coming out of the bar smashed out of your head, one or two slices and you were good to carry on the party. They were big slices, not mamby pamby little bullshit slices, talking huge!
Not trying to start some shit, but Austin pizza sucks butt. Straight up. Drunk or not.
There was a decent stone oven pizza joint over near the Arboretum. But that 12 years ago, and they might not still be around. I didn't check the last time I was in Austin which was 2 years ago. I'm pretty sure that I've had Hoeks, and I remember it being slightly better than Diablo Pizza over on 4th.
the very best pizza I've had ever:
-a place on 47th street off 5th ave in NYC. don't remember name.
-some place in Santa Monica don't remember name
-the cheeseburger pizza at The Tavern in Des Moines, IA (original location)
-the falafel pizza at Noah's Ark in Edison, NJ |

And, Pie in the Sky in NOLA. (R.I.P.)
forgot about Fellini's... that place is pretty good, but I much prefer Nancy's thin crust pizza! |

correction: that's Jerusalem Pizza in Highland Park, NJ not Noah's Ark in Edison...
I must have been subconsciously dreaming of the INCREDIBLE steak sandwich at Noah's Ark in Teaneck, NJ or Noah's Ark in Des Moines, IA that I knew of as a child and was OK. |

| I love pizza from most places, but California Pizza Kitchen is an affront before the eyes of God, and should be stricken from the planet. |

Ledo pizza, back in Southern Maryland, had the best pies around.
The slices were a bit greasy, but the flavor ratio was simply amazing.
Anytime I go there to visit my folks I try and grab one. |
