Fuck short ribs/tail ribs/whatever.

When did fagz start using these? Much earlier than I had thought apparently, cuz I have seen them on definite 84/85 decks like my fat tailed/1979 dragon copyright McGill and my first shape Roskopp III.

Maybe these were homemade? I have never seen them in ads from 84/85/86.

Also sup with WIDE nosebones? I've never had the later ones, were they the same pattern? I know the material turned from shiny urethane to rougher/flat soft urethane, but was that the only change? Maybe WIDE was used upon introduction to differentiate them from the 2-hole PP noses from the Beamer/BriteLite era?

Did I just answer my own questions?

perhaps they were created for those that enjoyed drilling as many holes in their wood as possible?!?!

Yes - this was my understanding...although I don't know it as a fact.

I remember getting some for my gonz in 86' it was just about affordable additions for my first pro deck. I mean, if you got a tail bone on what the hell... add some tiny rails to go with Anyways I was like 10 years old so it seemed like a good ideal at the time.

The 2nd board I ever bought was a used ripper pig in 6th grade, and it came with short ribs on the tail. My Roskopp 1 is also drilled for them.

a kid I made friends with in the neighborhood had a gonz with all the gadgets, all the way around the rail. nose bone, tail bone, little tail ribs or whatever they were, I think he had tracker trucks with copers and even a lapper. The skateshop definitely saw his parents coming. all that mess just to be an eleven year old kid rolling around on the sidewalk.
