You miss the point. It's not about quantity, quality is were it's at. Anybody can spit out 100's of boards a day, but BDS puts together pieces of art that just so happen to be skateboards.
How many times do you take your World Ind board to the park and kids come up to and ask you what board is it and say how cool it looks and they wish they could afford one. Well when I ride my Bulldog that happens more often than not. I usually bring two board to the park so I can let others ride one and still be able to hit the coping with the other.
There is a resurgence of vert boards coming on the market and BDS is leading the way! |

I'M missing the point?!?!?
Is the title of this thread "Who makes the best boards?" or "What deck company has the most style?"? Or is it "Who has the top selling board?"
Since when does quality craftsmanship equal top sales, or the other way around? Nobody here is saying that World/Element/Blind/etc. decks are more stylish or of better quality or in any other way superior to BDS decks. That, my point-missing friend, would be a great topic for another thread. We're talking about (or at least trying to, no thanks to you two bungling nitwits) WHO HAS THE TOP SELLING, #1, MOST UNITS PRODUCED AND SOLD, DECK ON THE MARKET!!!
Jesus Fucking Christ, some people are so obsessed with sucking the corn out of Wes's turds that in any conversation where BDS doesn't reign supreme they have a coronary. Nowhere did I ever bash BDS, Wes, Rich, or anything about the company. I would much rather ride a BDS deck than a popsicle stick, and so would most people around these parts, but open your fucking eyes and realize that the world of skateboarding does not revolve solely around Dogtown or BDS. I'd bet that a healthy majority of skaters (i.e., more than 50% of all people who ride skateboards) have never even heard of BDS. What do you think of that heresy?
Did you miss the part where I wrote

Let me try to illustrate what's going on here in terms of another story you might understand, since your comprehension seems to be nil. Try to figure out which character is most like you.
Once upon a time, there's a group of guys sitting around, drinking beer and bullshitting at the bar. One guy says to the group, "Say, what do you imagine is the number one selling car in the United States?"
Rational Guy Number One says, "I'd guess it's probably a Honda Accord or a Toyota Camry, because so many people know how reliable those cars are."
Rational Guy Number Two says "I think it's the Chevy Impala. Just think of all the rental cars, police cars, and taxis that you see on the road, plus it's a big seller in the private sector too."
Rational Guy Number Three says "I bet it's either a Ford Explorer or a Chrysler minivan, since so many people have families."
Then, out of left field, Not Such A Good Reader Guy comes in and says "It's got to be the Ferrari Maranello! It's assembled by hand, at the Ferrari factory in Italy, in the same rich tradition as established by the late, great Enzo Ferrari. I've heard that there's even a waiting list to buy them!"
Rational Guy Number Two then says, "Yeah, that's a great car alright, but not everyone needs a fancy Italian sportscar. Most people who drive their cars only use them to go to work, or run errands, or to go on trips. The number of high end sports car aficionados is pretty low in the grand scheme of all automobile owners. We were talking about the top car sold, as in the most units sold, not which car is the best."
To which, Not Such A Good Reader Guys retorts, "It's the Maranello! Haven't you heard of Enzo Ferrari, the great racecar driver and designer? They can go 200 mph! You don't know anything about cars if you don't agree that the Ferrari Maranello is the top selling car in the US! get with the program. knowledge is key!"
Rational Guy Number Two again points out that there really aren't very many Ferraris made in a year, especially when compared to a larger, more mainstream auto maker like Ford, Chrysler, GM, Toyota, or Honda.
This point apparently fails to carry the day, considering that Not Such A Good Reader Guy attracts an "ally", Mr. Doesn't Read Closely Enough To Realize That He's Actually Making Rational Guy Number Two's Point For Him. He says that the Ferrari has to be the number one seller because it's such a nice car, and it's all about quality, not quantity, that determines a number one seller. He has a Ferrari Maranello, and everyone he's let drive it has really liked it, so it's clearly the best selling car in the country.
Yeah, I realize that there would be a hell of a lot more people driving Maranellos if they were priced in the $25,000 range. Work with me and try to get it this time, imbeciles.
And, just to piss on your ice cream, my main deck measures 10 x 36, and the only World/Blind/Element deck I own is a World Industries Ron Chatman Experience that I ride in the rain. Fuck off and learn to read, asswipes.
My vote is still Bam.
Edit-->I forgot to capitalize the "Fucking" in "Jesus Fucking Christ".

You know that feeling you get when some random badass walks right up to your homie and starts shit with him over something retarded, and your pal is all like, "Woah, now - I didn't know she was yer momma, maybe we can work this out like rational human beings. chill...", but badass is steady taking swings at yer boy because he can't see that he's been given a gracious opportunity to bow out of the conflict he's begun, and you're just sitting background, watching this dude take swings that appear to be aimed at your boy's face but wind up missing by a good 3 feet, and you don't even get involved because the attack is so laughable and you know your boy is gonna Cassius Clay the dude when he gets sick of feeling the wind of silly insults on his face, and just when you think it cant get any more hillarious...

Yeah....stick to the popsicle sticks til you're too old and busted up to do a kickflip or even ollie, then buy a longboard to keep the dream alive on and blame all the people with popsicle sticks for "ruining skateboarding". | I'm telling ya, I had a bunch of those eariler this year and I couldnt give them away. Now everyone wants one! They did have a great concave and nose, so did the grosso signature series. |

WO, what have I entered into,boy the shit flys around here, Ok, first the question was who's deck is the best selling if I get the question right. Since the pandora's box has been opened to the corporate world it's all about distribution to all of the mass merchants, of which none of us are. Just look at what is on the shelves and my guess would be Tony Hawk hands down. With that said I'm one of the few survivors of this trend as my shop has been around since April 26th 1976 and we carry over 250 different decks and Tony doesn't sell well with us. Years ago I decided to brand ourselves to counter this trend and today we sell over 1400 of our own decks yearly not to mention our own line of clothing. So there you go the best part is that I still love coming to work so I quess that's why I don't spit on others or maybe it's the vibe of where I live just blocks from the Burnside Project, Laters and I think I'll stick to hot discussions as the heat is turned up a little to high in this room, Howard
