Associate Producers: Bod Boyle & Steve Douglas, and Pat Rocco?
Doesn't sound very impartial to me... |

It's a way of making something that once was cool and relevant... that is no longer cool and relevant... and, that has not been cool or relevant for quite some time... seem cool and relevant once again.
The fact that you can buy this brand of rebellion at Dick's Sporting Goods tells you just how uncool and irrelevant this has become. |

That was my favorite era of skating. I had just started a couple years before Rocco took over.
Rocco and Mullen and the artists involved changed skateboarding and the actual skateboard itself (for better or worse) completely. World Industries as it stands today might be irrelevant but Rocco is anything but as far as skateboarding history goes. |

Irrelevant to me and you but just because you don't like something doesn't mean it's not relevant. Are we the Gods of relevance?
My 5 year old nephew got a World Industries complete for his birthday a while back. For my sister's income, it was either that or a Walmart board with one bearing in each wheel. I think she made the best choice. He's still stoked on it. I would imagine this to be the same scenario for a ton of kids. Must be. The company is still going. Relevant to them. |

Anbody recall the whole "Bitch" company?
Sal Rocco went from originator to former owner in like a minute.
Bitch products are still readily available to ship from Japan.
He should start another company and call it:
"everybody who's anybody hates my brother".
....and then sell it to his brother for some of that sweet, sweet hush money I hear there's plenty of. |

...but seriously folks, as long as we're making documentaries that are moving-picture thankyou notes to A-holes, someone should make one about Brad Dorfman.
If he hadn't been such a jerk, there wouldn't be World, Black Label, etc, etc...
I've also heard him blamed for how outta control Gator was...you know...heard he encouraged it because it was good for business.
...and now with Vision Street Wear owned by Payless Shoes???
Am I noticing some similarities here....? |

No shit. Instant rewind to 1992 when I hear that.
Looks interesting.
Me and my neighbor were just jamming to Ned's on the 4th during our bbq. Brings back good memories. |

Old World: Turner Napping Negro? Natas Devil Worship? Colvin Censorship? Remember?
Current World: Wet Willy bullshit in department stores.
Old World: Relevance.
Current World: Commodity. |

never touched the stuff
I just don't understand where you get that this documentary is trying to make the current World Industries cool and relevant again.
Also don't understand where your gauge of what's relevant and what's not comes from.
You just seem to think that you know everything and that yours is the only allowable opinion. And that's what it is after all, an opinion. Anybody who disagrees is on crack or needs to have their grandmother raped (remember that) so they conform to agree with your opinion.
You just can't agree to disagree. You have to keep coming back and taking shots.
I don't argue so i'll end my part and you can slag me all you want.
Have at it. |

You can think whatever you want, it's a free country. My two cents isn't any bigger than your two cents. These are just forums. Places to voice opinions. If you wanna think that World Industries still kicks ass, well, have at it.
Just be sure not to take everything you read on the internet too literally, bro. I doubt that you actually smoke crack, just as I hope to hell that you don't really ass rape your gramma. |
